Volunteer Event 3.22.23

Spring began with an enthusiastic start at the Friends “Volunteer Meet & Mingle” last week at the Central Avenue Library. Twenty members gave it their all.

Maria Guzetta, Board Member and local counseling professional directed everyone in a fast moving and fun mix up introduction. Barbara Gannon, Board President, and Maryann Loverro, Chair of Books for Babies Program, spoke about recent fund-raising successes and many opportunities for volunteers in events to come.

Another Thank You

A  “Thank you letter” from Library Patron and Friends of Massapequa Library Member I.W:

The many programs the library offers have helped me to cope, and remain positive during the Covid 19 pandemic.

  • I start my week on Monday with Strength Training, keeping limber is so important when most activities are canceled.
  • The Sharper Image classes have helped me with my computer skills.
  • Peter and Lee host the book club, which has introduced me to some great reads and stimulating discussions.
  • I enjoy Seniors “Write  Your Stories” hosted by Don Allen.
  • I  hope that “Let’s Talk” would start a Zoom program
  • Hoopla has provided me with many a good read.
  • I would also like to state how kind, efficient and courteous the staff is.

Again I would like to say Thank You, Massapequa Library!

–I.W.
