On Wednesday, February 28th, 2024, we held our first Book Swap Fundraiser at Bar Harbour. Several people brought books that were arranged on tables by volunteers. Then everyone got to walk around, chat, have some snacks, enter into the raffles, and pick out some “new” books to take home. We look forward to doing more events like this in the future!
Spring began with an enthusiastic start at the Friends “Volunteer Meet & Mingle” last week at the Central Avenue Library. Twenty members gave it their all.
Maria Guzetta, Board Member and local counseling professional directed everyone in a fast moving and fun mix up introduction. Barbara Gannon, Board President, and Maryann Loverro, Chair of Books for Babies Program, spoke about recent fund-raising successes and many opportunities for volunteers in events to come.
Thank you to all the Friends who came to the annual meeting. We discussed past and current events, met the Board of Directors and had some yummy treats. Everyone is looking forward to future events.
Even though the weather was against us everyone still had a great time. The Friends had a blast helping out and interacting with the community.
Thank you to all who participated in our Hearts and Sweets card game night. Patrons of the library and Friends of the Library enjoyed learning how to play Hearts, and some yummy sweets provided by the Friends.
